Tucked up in a historic Georgian building just off Parnell Square, on North Frederick Street, The Old Music Shop is a hidden gem and a must for your next brunch date. It also has a sweet story behind it.
For 80 years, the famous Walton's music shop called this location home and housed Ireland's first music school, the Dublin College of Music and their mantra “if you’re going to sing a song, sing an Irish song” is still remembered throughout the world. Hearts around Dublin broke when Walton's announced they were shutting up shop in 2013 but owner of the Castle Hotel Fionn MacCumhaill, re-opened the much loved music store as a restaurant that focuses on pure and honest food with casual dining.
When you step through the doors, you'll see a selection of instruments and song sheets from the original shop. During renovations of the Castle Hotel, many letters written by guests around the time of 1916 were found, so now you can read all about the history of this time and lose yourself in thoughts and meanderings of times gone by.
These link in with the attractive Georgian features in the Georgian Room - this space is perfect for bigger groups and you can book it out for special occasions.

If you're looking for something a little lighter, they also offer a great selection of cereals, scones and fresh pastries - NOM!
