If you're anything like us, you'll have spent the last few days - or weeks - planning what you and the fam will do this Christmas.
This time of year is jam-packed with LOADS to do, and thanks to SuperValu's online shopping, you'll have even more time for moments that matter this festive season.
With that in mind, we've had a gander at some of the best things to do this Christmas so wrap up, grab a hot chocolate and make the most of the festive season with our list of can't-miss Yuletide activities.
1. See Santa at Jervis
If you do one thing with the family this Christmas, bringing the kids to see the main man himself has to be it. Experience a little bit of the North Pole with Santa's new Magical Castle in Jervis Shopping Centre starting next week.
Join Santa at 11am on Saturday Nov 17th for his big arrival and to mark the special occasion, Jervis will host LOADS of amazing events from magic shows, meet and greets and a Christmas Song and Dance Show all on the day.
All of these events and Santa's arrival are completely free too!
2. St Stephen's Green Christmas Lights
The Gaiety Theatre
Considering almost all the city's Christmas lights are already turned on (seriously lads, it's getting earlier each year!) it's nice to see you can still experience the turning on ceremony closer to Christmas.
Not only that, Santa himself will turn on the centre’s amazing Christmas lights on November 18th at 3pm. Yay! You can see more info on the event here.
3. Dublin Flea Christmas Market
Shopping at this time of year can be hectic but this is something a little different. The Dublin Flea Christmas Market offers an incredible variety of both contemporary and vintage items, a great opportunity to pick up a few gifts that will surprise friends and family.
Open over a few weekends this December, the market features 280 stalls in total with 140 new stalls on each weekend - December 6th to the 9th and 13th to the 16th. Wander around the twinkling lights and feast your eyes on homeware, antiques, jewellery, art, skincare and much much more
There will also be Irish artisan food stalls, a cafe and musical performances. And - the best things to grace a Christmas market... MULLED WINE! Yaassss!
4. Ice- Skating
This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's something you and the family will enjoy doing, no matter how good - or bad - you are at ice-skating.
This year iSkate-on-Ice is back at the RDS for and is Ireland's only outdoor rink which makes for a fantastic experience. If you're bringing along younger kids fear not - they even have a separate rink smaller children with balancing aides and double-sided skates for extra ease. Handy!
Kicking off on November 23rd, sessions are every 75 minutes from 10am and you have up until January 7th to show off your Torvill and Dean skills and nail the perfect 10.
5.The Christmas Panto
It may be cliche but we're gonna say it - Christmas just wouldn't be the same without a panto.
The Gaiety Theatre has hosted the annual panto each year since 1873, so they're pretty good at it. Year after year, the Gaiety Panto proves to be such a magical experience and with this year's performance of The Snow Queen hitting the stage, it's the perfect story for the entire family.
Tickets start from €19.50 and the show runs from November 25th to 6th Jan, so you have plenty of time to see it. If you've never been before, get booking and kick off a new family tradition this year.
6. Winter Funderland
How could we not include the ultimate fairground experience on this list?
This firm favourite event has set up camp in Dublin every year for over 40 years during the Christmas holidays - and it's pretty impressive!
Speaking for ourselves, but there is something about this place that makes everyone so happy. Maybe it's the lights, the weird and wonderful acts or just the sugar rush from the epic candy floss - who knows! One thing's for sure, this place will boost the festive feels and be a great day out for the family.
December 26th until January 13th We all know January can be a bit 'meh' after all the Christmas celebrations so the fact that Winter Funderland open its doors from December 26th to January 13th is pure genius.
