Anybody else feeling ridiculously excited for the four days of freedom that we're about to experience?
The only challenge to come with all that free time is finding enough activities to keep you occupied — which, admittedly, is a pretty good problem to have.
If you're scratching your head about how to make the most of your long weekend, allow us to make a suggestion: pop into Jameson Distillery Bow St.
Now we're not talking about taking a tour of the place, although you could, rather we're saying you should give the recently launched cocktail-making class, The Whiskey Shakers, a bash.
Hosted by a Jameson expert mixologist, you'll learn everything you need to know about whipping up whiskey-based cocktails with professional bar tools during this 60-minute masterclass.
The intimate experience takes place in the Shakers Room, with a max. of 16 people, each with a dedicated bar set-up.
The class takes place three times a day, seven days a week (even on long weekends), so there's ample opportunity to book a slot online. They also accept walk-ins if there's availability, so if you're in the area you're more than welcome to just saunter in (there’s also 5% discount when you book in pairs, so why not bring a friend?).
During the Whiskey Shakers Experience, you'll learn about the history, ingredients and recipes of Jameson cocktails, as well as create (and taste) three concoctions of your own. After the class, you can indulge your newfound appreciation for whiskey in the picturesque JJ's Bar, where they serve a variety of cocktails and other beverages, such as Irish Coffee and the brand new Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition.
You'll be as learned as any bartender by the end of the immersive session.
Doesn't matter if you're a local or a blow-in, there’s a drink at the bar with your name on it. Well not literally, but you know what we mean.
