So-voted by other inter-county players, the Dublin goalie and captain was honoured for his dedication to the GAA.
Picking up a sixth All-Star, the soon-to-be 38-year-old is now also the oldest All-Star football recipient, the most senior winner of the Footballer of the Year and the last goalkeeper since Martin Furlong to win the award (who along with Cork goalie Billy Morgan were honoured by the old Texaco awards, discontinued in 2012).

All deserved distinctions given that Cluxton has played for Dublin for an impressive 19 years, captaining the team to five-in-a-row glory this past September.

Rounding up a memorable season for the Dublin team, the award is the crowning glory for the footballer who became the first man to play over 100 times in the senior championship.
