Yesterday was a sad day for the food lovers of Dublin as it was announced that a beloved restaurant on the city's northside had closed with immediate effect.
Twenty2, located on the Sion Road in Drumcondra, Dublin 9, closed its doors suddenly yesterday.
The restaurant was known to serve up some stellar brunches, lunches, dinners and drinks. It was also known for its extensive wine menu.
The owners of the much-loved establishment announced the news in a statement on their website, explaining that a conflict with their landlord lead to the closure:
"Dear Customers, due to an ongoing dispute with our landlords about our tenancy agreement it is with deep regret that we announce we are closed for good from Monday 14th October 2019.
"We have loved being part of this incredible community. We would like to thank all our customers, staff and suppliers for their support over the last 4 years and 10 months in business.
"Any queries please email [email protected]"

Customers were quick to express their disappointment. One wrote on Twitter, "Devastated to hear of the closure of @twenty2_D9. I lived on the northside for over two years and they were hands down THE BEST full Irish available anywhere. They had you sorted for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our apartment were regulars. Hope you guys can set up elsewhere."
