PICS: A Massive Protest Over The Homeless Crisis Is Happening In Dublin Today

People are taking to the streets in town today in protest against the Dublin homeless crisis. The protests around the city are aimed at getting the government to take more action against the steadily worsening issue, with the number of homeless in Dublin now thought to be almost 10,000. The National Homeless & Housing Coalition Dublin Demonstration is being attended by around 50 groups including Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) and the Union of Students In Ireland as well as many other homeless charities and local community groups. https://twitter.com/KevinKelly1992/status/1104385418982768641 RTÉ News reports that they are “calling for the Government to declare the housing crisis a national emergency, to end evictions and to build 10,000 social housing units a year”.
