It's Dublin humour at it's finest!
Dublin Port Company gathered a few old colleagues together and asked them to share the nicknames they used to call each other.
They explain that it was a unique tradition among dockland workers. Once you got a nickname, it stuck with you for life and as they say themselves, "the more ya talked and tried to contradict it, the worse it got".
Some of our favourites include Diesel, Bogey Dixon, The Wicked Chicken and Saltbox O'Connor.
"If you said the things that were said on the docks as a norm, you'd probably get sacked".
