Dublin's very own Grafton Street has been ranked in 11th place in the top 30 European shopping streets in terms of its huge mass-market footfall, making it officially the busiest street in Ireland.
Although it didn't make the cut to be included in the top 20 European luxury high streets, Grafton Street is one of the busiest streets in Europe with over 8,802 pedestrians walking the street per hour.
So that's why you can never just walk up it at a normal walking pace.
The findings were published by BNP Paribas Real Estate and found that Grafton Street was just 5% less busy than the bustling Regent Street in London.
Out of the 98 streets surveyed, Ireland scored quite highly, and Henry Street wasn't far behind Grafton with 8,505 pedestrians per hour.
The Independent reported that Eoin Feeney of BNP said that the Irish streets ranked higher than some well-known ones across Paris and Rome.
He said, "Ireland scores very favourably, featuring twice in the top 20 busiest streets in Europe as measured by footfall per hour.
"Henry Street carries 8,505 per hour, which puts both it and Grafton Street ahead of many well-known streets including Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, Via del Corso in Rome and Kalverstraat in Amsterdam."
The report also described that Grafton Street is one of the mot sought after locations for Irish retailers due to the high amount of footfall due to its cultural character and it is a high tourism spot - but it also puts it as one of the most expensive in terms of rent.
The BNP report said that the street is "anchored" by Brown Thomas and has had a positive impact with the addition of other high end stores including the likes of & Other Stories, Victoria Secrets, Molton Brown and Hugo Boss.
So if you're ever walking the streets and giving out about how busy it always is - now you know how many people are actually walking it per hour. Madness.
