If You’re Heading To The March For Choice, You Need To Join This Transport Group

Unless you've been living under a rock the past few weeks, you'll be aware that the Dublin Bus strikes are disrupting all sorts of events and people are struggling to make their way around the capital without the service. 

Another very important event that it'll effect will be the fifth annual March for Choice, that will take place this Saturday on September 24. Marchers will be assembling at the Garden of Remembrance on Parnell Square from 1.30pm, before marching to Dáil Éireann at 2pm to protest for the right to free and safe abortions in Ireland. 

The theme of our March this year is ‘Rise and Repeal’, a comment on the failure of our Republic to fulfil the promise of equality made in 1916.

However, many people have expressed their worries and regrets that they wouldn't be able to attend the all important march because of the bus strikes, which led to some amazing people setting up the group 'Transport to the March for Choice' where people can offer lifts, arrange meeting points, and buses have even been arranged to and from the march, all around the country. 

Other wonderful spin-off groups have been set up, such as Bake for Choice, where they ask for donations of baked goods. 

We will be having Tea and "Cakes for Choice" at the The Afters - March for Choice to feed all you hungry protesters. Anyone who fancies showing their love through baked goods, we will be in Filmbase from 10am on the day accepting delicious donations. The more adventurous, the better!

Please let us know if you will be bringing something by, and if you need to drop off the day before, make sure its well wrapped so it doesn't get smooshed, stale (or eaten).
