A historic Dublin neighbourhood has been named as one of the coolest in the world.
The Liberties is home to some of Dublin's funkiest spots, from restaurant and bars, to live music and markets, you can find it all, and apparently Time Out agree.
The publication named the central Dublin neighbourhood as one of the 39 coolest worldwide.
Sitting pretty at number 23 on the list, the Liberties joined destinations in Japan, Belgium, Finland and more.
Furthermore, it joins the list of celebrated Dublin neighbourhoods, as Inchicore, Stoneybatter, Dublin 8 and Smithfield have all previously made the list.
The travel and hospitality outlet highlights the best of cities across globe and has grown into a network of experts sharing their insights into the destinations they visit.
Grace Beard, Travel Editor of Time Out said the team 'quizzed our global network of local experts to rank the coolest pockets of the world's best cities'.
Selections were then ranked against criteria including culture, community, liveability, nightlife, food and drink, street life and that hard-to-define sense of 'nowness'.
The Liberties was celebrated for it's variety of food, culture and accommodation.
"It may be one of Dublin's oldest neighbourhoods, but alongside medieval remnants and terraced houses, the Liberties is home to some of the hottest spots in town – from Argentinian bakeries (hello, Bakeology) to classic pubs", wrote Dublin-based Nicola Brady.
Also receiving shoutouts was The Liberties Festival, Change Clothes, and Variety Jones.
Two Pups was also recommended by Brady as a spot to stop in for a coffee, while Space Out Sister was mentioned for its vintage lingerie.
Jimbocho in Tokyo took the golden spot; a university neighbourhood dubbed the 'hangout of choice for generations of Tokyo intellectuals'.
Rounding out the top five was Borgerhout in Antwerp, Barra Funda in São Paulo, Camberwell in London and Avondale in Chicago.
