Conor McGregor has received a €1,000 fine after being convicted of punching a man in a Dublin pub.
The UFC fighter appeared at Dublin District Court today where he pleaded guilty to assaulting the man at The Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh on April 6 of this year. The victim of the assault, Desmond Keogh (50s) did not appear in court.
McGregor will make his return to the UFC in a fight scheduled for Las Vegas on January 18. His opponent on the night is rumoured to be the American fighter Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.
Speaking about the fight, UFC President Dana White told TMZ: "We have nothing done, nothing is even close to being done. So I hate to even talk about this stuff and say it, because it might not happen, it might happen. But we’re looking at ‘Cowboy.’"
McGregor is reported to have punched Mr. Keogh at the Marble Arch after Keogh refused repeated offers to sample a free glass of McGregor's own brand whiskey.
