€50,000 Reward Offered For Information Relating To Garda’s Murder Four Years Ago

The Garda Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan has issued a fresh appeal this morning for help solving the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.

The Co. Louth detective was gunned down outside Lordship Credit Union in Dundalk four years ago today, in what Ms O'Sullivan described as a "brutal and senseless murder".

Nobody has ever been charged with his murder, which happened during a botched raid as he was escorting a cash delivery to the credit union.

The investigation is currently being led from detective Garda Donohoe's old station in Dundalk and the commissioner said that they will continue to investigate until "justice is done".

As reported in The Irish Independent, Ms O'Sullivan stated that:

"We cannot do this alone, we still need the public’s help. Even the smallest piece of information could be vital. At this time, I would appeal to anyone with information on Adrian’s murder to come forward and help us with our enquiries".

"There are still people out there who know who the killers are. It is never too late to do the right thing. Any information provided will be treated sensitively."

The Irish League of Credit Unions, which acts as a representative for credit unions in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, has offered a substantial reward of €50,000 for information that leads to any arrest and prosecution in respect of the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
