You’d Have To Work 122 Hours A Week To Afford A One-Bed Apartment In This Dublin Suburb

We all know how expensive it is to rent in Dublin and the rising cost of living in Ireland's capital is slowly putting it beyond the reach of those in low-income jobs.

New research by Dublin Inquirer has shown that people would have to work over 100 hours a week at minimum wage to afford to live in many of the city's neighbourhoods.

According to the site's figures, someone would have to work 122 hours a week to rent a one-bedroom apartment in D18 (Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown), 121 hours in Dublin 4 and Dublin 2.

While prices were lower on the Northside, they still remain extremely prohibitive - with people needing to work 102 hours to obtain a one-bed In D1, 94 for D9 and 88 for D18.
