It Now Takes Only Three Weeks To Sell A House In Dublin

The Dublin property market has seemingly reached fever pitch, with houses now being sold within three weeks of going on sale.

That's according to Q2 REA Average House Price Index, who said that properties in some areas of south Dublin, including Tallaght, Clonskeagh and Dun Laoghaire, are now being snapped up in just 21 days.

The average semi-detached three bedroom house nationally now costs €215,269, a rise of 2.5% on the first quarter of the year.

Overall, average house prices across the country have risen by 11.2% over the past 12 months – a dramatic increase on the 4.5% increase hike seen between June 2015 and June 2016.

The average three-bed semi now costs €311,000 in Cork (up 2%), €245,000 in Galway (up 2.1%) and €185,000 in Limerick (up 3.9%) and Waterford €190,000 (no change), with first-time buyers opting for new homes listed as the reason for static pricing in the latter county.
