Finglas.
The North Dublin suburb has many good reasons for you to just buy a gaff and stay there forever.
With a community that thousands of people call home, there are a lot of great amenities, local events and places to see.
Here are 10 reasons why you should consider living in Finglas.
The Dublin 11 suburb is close to the city centre and it is just a few kilometres from Dublin Airport if you fancied a getaway every now and again. It's basically just up the road.
Finglas also sits right on Junction 5 of the M50 if you wanted to get anywhere around Dublin and it's also right by the N2 road leading onto Ashbourne and beyond.
So...road trips every weekend?
With the renting and housing crisis an everyday topic in Ireland, living in Finglas could help house buyers save a bit of money.
Deciding to buy in the North Dublin suburb could be a big money saver compared to buying something south of the Liffey.
We came across this new 3 bedroom house in Heathfield just off Cappagh Road in Finglas on daft.ie.

Finglas is located very close to the city centre and has a lot of public transport and roads going in and out of Dublin City. Dublin Bus run a lot of services that bring you straight into town including the 40, 40d, 40b, 140 and many more. The bus journeys are not too long either. Bonus.
If you drive there are a lot of ways in and out of the city and if the traffic isn't too bad you can get in within half-an-hour or so.
Finglas Village has had a lively atmosphere for decades and is a top spot for locals. It originally had a huge Superquinn store that was the focal point of the village for shoppers and even had a sculpture commissioned for its grand opening to capture the 'Finglas spirit'.
The Spirit of Finglas by Leo Higgins is still erect outside what is now a SuperValu store.
The village has expanded over the years and now has a Costa, Centra, local fruit and veg store, cafés and much more. You can get your weekly shopping sorted with just a trip down the road.
Finglas has a lot to offer for everyone. It has its own sports and leisure centre, a local youth club for kiddies and teens and Charlestown Shopping Centre is just a short distance away.
The shopping centre even has a huge Dunnes Stores perfect for grocery and clothes shopping, a Boots, Eddie Rockets, a Leisureplex for bowling and an Odeon cinema if you fancy seeing a movie from time to time.
Odeon Charlestown, the nearly two year old cinema, hosts 9 screens and includes an iSense screen that is a must see. There is no better place to watch your favourite actors on the big screen.
And you know what? A lot of famous people actually grew up and lived in Finglas. The likes of Brendan O'Carroll, the mastermind behind Agnes Brown and Mrs Brown's Boys lived in the Dublin 11 suburb.
Other famous people include Christy Dignam, Joe Jewell and Alan Downey of Aslan, radio presenter Mairead Farrell and many more.
Having grown up in Finglas myself, I can vouch that you will meet some of the loveliest and soundest people around the area. If you need an extra hand your neighbours or family are always there. And at local festivals in the village every now and again the atmosphere is very 'homely'.
Plus, Finglas people know how to have good craic and a laugh.
The restaurant, The Lemon Tree, is a recently new addition to Finglas Village and is a Chinese cuisine restaurant right in the heart of the village that locals are starting to love. You can't ever really go wrong with a Chinese.
GoQuest is a fun-packed indoor challenge zone that is great for yourself and a group of friends or work pals. The 28 room arena is full of physical, mental and puzzles for you to solve with your team as quickly as you can to gain more points for your team. Each room has a different number of points you can earn if you successfully beat it in the given time -so you need to work quick! With an hour and a half to complete as many as you can it's great for anyone competitive and sure it's just down the road.
Nothing beats having a good local to go to with your friends for a night out and The Full Shilling in Finglas village is a hit with the locals.
The pub has become quite a spot in recent times for locals to go out and enjoy a nightclub kind of scene especially on a Thursday night. Thirsty Thursdays is always a hit.
