The winter months are fast approaching and with it the winter weather, whether we like to admit it or not. Tara Leathers is one Dublin business that wants to do their bit and help lessen the hardship for the city’s homeless population however they can.
The shoe repair shop, run by Sligo born cobbler Jim Brennan, is offering free sleeping bag and tent zip repairs for those who find themselves sleeping rough this winter.
Brennan, who recently opened another shop at 67 Dame Street, was inspired by the work of the Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) and took to social media to urge anyone in need to reach out.
According to Anthony Flynn of the ICHH “for people sleeping outdoors, it’s nearly impossible to keep a sleeping bag in good condition” and so this will undoubtedly be a very appreciated gesture.
Great to see a local business looking out for their own, keep up the good work lads.
