Dubbed Ireland's pirate queen, Grace O'Malley was the head of the Ó Máille dynasty in the sixteenth century, and her cultural impact can still be felt today Renowned for her fierce leadership both on land and at sea, this iconic Irish figure has captured our imagination, and a brand new art project pays tribute to her spirit. Irish Whiskey brand Grace O'Malley Whiskey has joined forces with street artist KinMx and Metacask, the blockchain-powered spirits marketplace to create The Grace, a limited-edition collection of digitally connected bottles. KinMx first created The Grace as a street mural and then recreated it across a canvas of 501 bottles, before they were filled with 13-year-old single-grain Irish whiskey with an Amarone finish. Together, these bottles form an awe-inspiring mural of the pirate queen that has to be seen to be believed. For a limited time only, you can now buy a one-of-a-kind centralised piece from The Grace for €450 as a non-fungible token on the Metacask platform - a rare opportunity for whiskey aficionados and art-lovers alike! Once you've purchased your product, you can hold it digitally, trade it or redeem the NFT from 1 December to receive the physical bottle, just in time for Christmas. Every single bottle used to create The Grace is enabled with Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology so that collectors can tap the bottle with a smartphone to verify the authenticity and ownership, unlock the artwork and reveal the stunning Grace O'Malley-inspired piece. While the bottles are indeed very special, the same can be said for the whiskey that fills them. This 13-year-old single-grain Irish whiskey is matured in first-fill American bourbon casks before being transferred into Amarone Della Valpolicella barrels where it is refined for two years. This intricate process results in whisky that possesses a rich fruity flavour and a dark red colour. The casks, meanwhile, were hand-selected by Grace O'Malley Whiskey's renowned master blender Paul Caris during his visits to the Veneto region at the foothills of the Alps.  You can check out The Grace right here.
