It's time to celebrate Dublin City’s unsung, local heroes
Brought to you by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, and Dublin City Council
We all have someone in our lives who deserves more recognition. A person who makes the lives of others better with what they do.
If you have someone who comes to mind, the Lord Mayor’s Awards are accepting nominations from the public for the first time in the awards' history.
For the 2026 Lord Mayor’s Awards, the public are being asked by Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, to nominate the individuals and groups they believe deserve to be recognised for the difference they make every day in our communities.
These awards set out to celebrate those who have been quietly committed to acts that improve the lives of those around them. No act is too big or too small.
Those nominated can be a person or group who you see as making a difference in a local club, a school, a street, a neighbourhood, a community organisation, or in the lives of others through care, leadership, generosity or service.
Running since 1989, the Lord Mayor’s Awards are an opportunity to celebrate, honour and thank people who make living in Dublin better for others.
It's easy to nominate. Share what makes the person or group special by filling out the online nomination form, at www.lordmayorsawards.ie.
The closing date for nominations is 5pm on 17 April 2026.
