Right across the city of Dublin, you will find dozens of pubs that have stood strong against the test of time.
All of these pubs are packed full of history which has developed over generations, making them a key part of the cities' rich culture and heritage.
For over 400 years, Bushmills Irish Whiskey has shared that same spirit, staying true to the values of craft, heritage and quality that define it.
Bushmills aims to celebrate some of these iconic pubs in their new series Pubs with History.

Similar to Bushmills itself, Doheny & Nesbitts dates back so far that it has witnessed political upheaval, cultural transformation, and the evolving tastes of generations of Dubliners.
This iconic Victorian pub has stood strong on Baggot Street since 1828, when John Heron first opened the doors of a lively city tavern.
According to the National Inventory, the pub's liquor licence has been held by several owners, including William Burke, who refurbished the business with stunning Victorian elements, some of which remain today.
Over the decades, Doheny’s has witnessed political upheaval, cultural transformation, and the evolving tastes of generations of Dubliners.
By 1893, the pub was in the hands of John Delahunty, a political figure who famously rode out the 1916 Easter Rising inside the Irish pub, as fighting raged outside near St Stephen’s Green and Mount Street Bridge.
In the 1960s, the pub entered a new chapter when Ned Doheny and Tom Nesbitt, two proud Tipperary publicans, gave the Irish pub the name it still carries today.
The pub transformed in 1989 when brothers Tom and Paul Mangan brought their Irish hospitality roots to Doheny & Nesbitt, elevating the pub to one of Dublin’s most respected and recognisable.
Today, the second generation of the Mangan family, Eoghan and Paul, lead the business with a blend of tradition and modern vision.
It’s the heritage and quality that have kept Dohney & Nesbitt’s alive and trading for so long, offering a premium experience to everyone who walks through the doors – as premium as Bushmills Black Bush, matured in Oloroso sherry casks for over 8 years.
So, if you’re feeling like sipping on a glass of Bushmills Black Bush whiskey with friends, Dohney & Nesbitt’s is the place to be.
