11.45am, Easter Monday, 1916
THEY ARE ARMED.
We are now seeing multiple tweets suggesting that the demonstrators who have been moving around the city centre all morning are DEFINITELY CARRYING WEAPONS.
Earlier on, we reported on some movements on Sackville Street – and later around the entire city centre – but at this point it's all starting to look a bit heavy.
As we said earlier, we'll keep you posted on what's happening.
All this week, we'll be bringing the 1916 Rising to life as it happened – and as it would have been reported in modern media – on the pages of Lovin Dublin. From the confusion of the early stages, to the public attitudes throughout the week, we're going back 100 years to explore what it was all like to be in Dublin City during that fateful Easter Week.
