One thing that really grinds our gears is the lack of variety that's available on many brunch menus.
While we love Eggs Benedict as much as the next foodie, sometimes you just want something a bit different and thankfully, Slice in Stoneybatter has stepped up to the plate.
The northside café (just off Manor Street, beside the famous Maureen's) has made a name for itself over the past few months with its Dirty Doughnut Thursday, forcing us to abandon our healthy diets for their delicious Banoffee and Honeycomb creations.

Now, they've decided to introduce what might be our favourite occasion of all time: French Toast Fridays.
It all kicked off this morning and in the interests of investigative journalism (and the fact that we were starving), we headed down to see what if it tastes as good as it sounds.
Slice plans to offer a different French toast incarnation every week and the first on the list was Baked Homemade Broiche & Sourdough with Blueberries, Toasted Walnuts, Cinnamon, Bacon and Apple Syrup.
So, did it live up to the hype? Hell yes.
The sourdough and brioche mix means that this has a totally different texture to your usual French toast, with a more dense feel and nice hint of sweetness.
The salty bacon and walnut combo is always a winner, while the blueberries add a tart element that cuts through the other flavours and stops it from feeling too heavy.
Cinnamon can be a bit divisive but don't worry if you're not a fan as it was pretty subtle in ours!
It looks like we're not the only ones who love a bit of brunch on a Sunday, as every table in the café ordered this special while we were there.
It's awesome but don't take our word for it, they'll be serving it for the rest of the day.
The perfect Sunday lunch treat!
