A major revamp of Meath Street in The Liberties is set to begin this month.
Dublin City Council and Cairn Construction will begin the long-awaited revitalisation of Meath Street this month.
The remodel will include new paving, improved pedestrian facilities, street trees, and landscaping designed to bolster traditional retail while creating space for cafes and markets.
The work follows extensive community consultation and an essential watermains upgrade completed by Uisce Éireann last summer.
To minimise disruption, construction will move in phases, starting at the south end between Carman’s Hall and The Coombe.
The street will remain open throughout the process, which is expected to continue into the second half of 2027.
Cairn Construction will provide regular updates to local residents and businesses as this Urban Regeneration-funded project transforms one of The Liberties' most iconic market streets.
How exciting!
