Gardaí have asked motorists to avoid the M50 if at all possible this morning after a collision led to 'severe delays'.
The incident occurred southbound between junction 13 and junction 14 Sandyford and several units of Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene.

Update: M50 collision Junction13 - Traffic being diverted to the green. Please exit if possible at other junctions prior to J13 due to heavy volumes of traffic. Avoid if at all possible. Can onlookers please move along as this is contributing to volumes. #ArriveAlive

According to AA Roadwatch, 'traffic on the M50 southbound is very slow from before J13 Ballinteer to J14 Leopardstown Rd where there is a serious crash blocking the left lane and hard shoulder.'
