In case you missed it, the classic TV show Friends will be returning to our screens in the not too distant future for a very special tribute.
When Robert Greenblatt, the entertainment chairman of NBC, first made the announcement on Thursday he said that the network was still in talks to get all the cast in the place for the once-off special.
However, yesterday it was revealed that one cast member will not be returning for the show. Can you guess who?
That's right, Matthew Perry will not be reprising his career-defining role as Chandler Bing. His representative said in a statement,
Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Feb 2 at the Playhouse Theatre. NBC executives were aware of this prior to their announcement yesterday. Matthew may tape something for the tribute. In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for.
The reunion is a tribute to James Burrows, who directed the series, as he just directed his 1,000th episode. The show will be filmed on January 24 and airs next month.
