Dublin Restaurant Forced To Close After Rent Row With Landlord

An Italian restaurant in Dublin 2 had to go to court in order to reopen after the landlord closed it due an unpaid rent dispute.

Staff were sent home from Belucci's restaurant on Merrion Row when the landlord entered the premises and took over using his own security team yesterday morning.

As originally reported by Independent.ie, the dispute centres around €140,000 of unpaid rent.

The restaurant's director, businessman Robbie Fox, sought the injunction to reopen the restaurant.

Earlier today, Justice Caroline Costello ruled in favour of the eatery and its owners preventing the landlord, Knockanore Properties and the security company interfering with the running of the business.

The case has been adjourned until June.
