Woke up this morning feeling every so slightly worse for wear, but just not quite ready to admit defeat yet?
You, my friend, are in need of a cheeky Sunday rollover.
So rather then traipsing into town where everywhere will be packed, we recommend you to go to The Back Page in Phibsboro, the absolute best games and sports bar on the northside.
The Clubhouse is a cosier area focused more on tunes, chats and an extremely impressive selection of board games (if you donate a game, you will receive your first drink on the house). Upstairs in the Press Room you can play ping pong or foosball, and if there’s a certain sports fixture which you want to watch, simply ask at the bar and you shall receive - “as long as it’s good”, they claim.
They do brunch, pizza, bingo nights, film screenings, games, and a whole loada beers. Still not convinced? Here's a few more reasons you need to hightail it on down here...
Their beer garden has cosy swinging hammocks, fake grass, and a super chilled out vibe.
It might be pretty windy out there today, but this beaut outdoor area is sheltered from all the external horrors.
They do a Brewtonic beer club, and regularly switch up their brews on tap and in cans.
If you want to try a new beer you've probs never even heard of before, this place is for you, and they do some great drinks deals (€12 for 3 Brahmas yes plz!)
They make everything fresh themselves including all the bread, paninis and their dough, and serve up pizzas such as the Conor Mcgregor (tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni and chorizo), and brunch dishes to drool over like their Turkish eggs with spiced garlic yoghurt.
From foosball to ping-pong, Nintendo games, old skool board games and regular bingo nights and pub quizzes, The Back Page is the kinda place you can easily spend four or five hours in hanging out with your crew.
They show whatever sports game is on at the moment, as well as themed movie nights and popular TV series screening.
Grab a pizza and a beer and sit back and relax.
