The sun is out and it's starting to feel a bit like summer.
Unfortunately, this is one surefire way to make us feel a bit more self-conscious about those squidgy bits and regret spending more time in the pub than the gym over the last few months.
But worry not, as there's still time to whip your ass into shape before your summer holidays.
We've teamed up with personal trainer and fitness model Sam McGuinness of Fresh Fit to hook you up with a exercise regime that will give you a rock-hard summer bod in no time – and we're going to be there for some moral support.
Three brave members of the Lovin Dublin team have signed up for six weeks of strict training and will be put through their paces by Sam three mornings a week at Flyefit on Baggot Street. It's safe to say that no squats will be missed and no mercy will be given.
Each session will focus on a different area - upper body, lower body and full body – and will be accompanied by a day of light cardio and one HIIT session.
We'll be sharing key exercises and advice from Sam every Sunday so that you can follow their plan – and get the same results – for yourself.
Our guinea pigs have different levels of fitness so it’s going to be an interesting few weeks, as they say goodbye to Friday night takeaways and hello to spending Sundays in the kitchen on meal prep.
Luckily, we have a few healthy recipes like this on the site to keep them on the right track! Fail to prepare, prepare to fail and all that...
It's not going to be all salads and sadness though, as the aim of the Lovin Lean programme is to show that you can fit exercise into your schedule without it being a time-consuming chore.
Be sure to check in next Sunday and see how the guys got on during week one!

Dublin is glutted with literary magazines. They’re ten a penny; if today’s penny is actually €15 each. In 2017 Justine Carbery wrote in The Irish Independent “literary journals proved to be constant stars in a fluctuating market. Ireland, with its rich history of independent literary magazines, finds itself in rude health today with many new […]
(and Always) It’s never been more vital to support Queer-Owned Spaces in Dublin. Put your money where your morals are as often as you can. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I know that the people who run our bars, restaurants, and cafés shape the atmosphere more than the decor or the playlist ever […]
