It may be Valentine's Day but let's face it, it's a Tuesday night and half of us are already broke for the month.
Worry not, as some really good movies dropped on Netflix recently and will keep you entertained for the night - whether you're cosying up on the couch with your favourite or just chilling on your ownio.
From romance to dramas, here are a few to check out...
If you haven't checked out Saoirse Ronan's Oscar-nominated turn in Brooklyn, now is as good a time as any. There's even a love triangle featuring our own Domhnall Gleeson, for the day that's in it.
Reese Witherspoon stars in this survival drama based on Cheryl Strayed's memoir. Basically, she plays a recent divorcee who decides to head off on a 2,650-mile trek across the Pacific Crest Trail. Perfect if you need something life-affirming.
This indie flick is perfect for sci-fi fans and stars Domhnaill Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander. The premise is that a young programmer is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in synthetic intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a breath-taking humanoid A.I.
Keep things Irish and show some love to this John Carney movie, which is an absolute tonic and will put you in great form. The soundtrack is deadly as well.
Eddie Redmayne is one of the greatest actors to come on the scene in the last few years and he won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in this movie.
Michael Keaton, Ed Norton and Emma Stone are just some of the actors who appeared in this movie about a faded Hollywood actor best known for playing the superhero 'Birdman'. It's pretty intense so you'll either love it or hate it.
Music fans should check out this biopic of Miles Davis, which stars the always brilliant Don Cheadle as lead actor and director. Ewan McGregor is great and it's a nice reminder of the Davis' genius.
If you like it, check out Ethan Hawke as jazz trumpeter Chet Baker in Born To Be Blue (not on Netflix but defo worth a look).
Nothing says sexy like statistics, am I right? Still, Ryan Gosling stars alongside Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt and Christian Bale in this movie about the financial crisis of 2007–2008.
You won't be right for days after watching this incredible tour de force by J.K. Simmons, as a deranged music teacher who inflicts his signature way of imparting knowledge on student Miles Teller. Pure brilliance.
