This Funky South Dublin Pizzeria Is Where You Need To Eat Tonight

Thin 'n' crispy is how we like our pizzas, and Basil in Ringsend are absolute masters at this.

This quirky pizzeria was created in the childhood home of owner Basil, and there's a kinda eclectic almost hippy vibe to the place, with inside and outside merging into one welcoming pizza parlour.

One of the best things about Basil (the restaurant, that is, we don't know the delightfully named man personally) is that the pizzas are amazing value for being pretty much in the city centre.

A 9" pizza will only set you back €7, with a 12" costing a mere €10, and you're expected to choose your own toppings to add to the basic Margarita, which has fresh buffalo mozzarello (we're taking creamy thick chunks of it <3), fresh basil, and oregano.

Toppings range from veggie options such as aubergine, rocket, olives, artichokes or chillis, to the meaty choices of chorizo, sausage, bacon or parma ham.

And just look how authentic these Neapolitan style pies are...

Basil is particularly popular with groups of mates, 'cos not only does chowing down at a pizza party make for the best night ever, they also have the super sound offer of BYOB for just €5 per bottle of wine, and €1 per bottle of beer.

Chilling outside at one of the cute purple tables on a balmy summer evening has been something we've been dreaming of allll winter, and now the time is here.

Fake grass and lots and lots of lanterns and tealights all add to the relaxing atmosphere that's also an Instagram haven.

Word to the wise, my fellow pizza obsessives, this place is quite small and you WILL need to book a table at least a week in advance if you're looking to come here on a Friday or Saturday night, because this is incredibly popular with locals.

It's worth planning ahead for pizza this good though, promise.
