A Slick Penthouse Bar AND A New Rooftop Terrace Are Coming To These City Centre Areas

If there's one thought we bet the entire county has in their heads on a glorious sunny day like today, it's "if only there was more rooftop bars in town". Right?

Well there will be soon thanks to Oakment developers, who are planning to replace the once-popular Howl at the Moon premises in Dublin 2 (which the company purchased for a reported €3.2 million in January) into a new hotel which will be much higher than the original building.

Considering the developer's other hotels include The Dean on Harcourt St which is home to famous rooftop bar Sophie's, it's expected that the layout will include dining and bar areas at ground floor and penthouse level, with hotel rooms on the floors in between.

Oakmount are also planning a €1 million refurb at the former Aungier House pub on Aungier St to open a new swanky pub and cocktail bar, which The Irish Times say will have a traditional-style pub at the groundfloor, with a kitchen and cocktail bars on the upper floors, and a small roof terrace that will fit about 20 people.

This sounds soo perfect for warmer nights out on the town.

Fumbally Square in Dublin 8 will also se the conversion of stone former distillery building into a high-level apartment building with a café, restaurant, deli and gym on the ground level.

It's expected building for all three exciting projects will begin in the next six months, and we cannot wait for these deadly new addition's to Dublin's drinking scene.
