Cake For The Gluten Free Hipsters

You may or may not be familiar with Wall & Keogh. It's been around for a few years on Richmond Street selling the most incredible tea blends in the city and supplying tonnes of businesses in Dublin with their loose leaf teas. The also sell paninis, sushi and cake. A random combination, I know. However, their food is delicious, especially their cakes and it doesn't hurt that you can relax with a nice cup of very fancy tea while you're at it.

Working nearby this spot means having to have the will-power of a superhuman to avoid a chocolate caramel square every single time I go in for tea, which is quite often. They're literally oozing with caramel and the layer of chocolate is so thick! If chocolatey, gooey squares are your thing then you may also like their rocky road that's jam packed with marshmallows, biscuit pieces and rich, dreamy chocolate.

All their cakes are gluten free, but to be honest, who cares (unless you're coeliac in which case you probably should care quite a lot!). Cake is cake, just eat it and enjoy it. Gluten free or not though, their cake selection is absolutely delicious. They serve some main stream offerings like epic chocolate brownies, carrot cake that has a cult following and really moist banana bread. They also serve an alternative looking goji berry cake and a matcha tea loaf which I'm very curious about but haven't tried yet.

The cafe itself is really cool on the inside and smells amazing from all the different loose leaf tea blends on display- my favourites should you wish to start dabbling in their loose leaf delights are the Moroccan Dusk tea which is a green and mint blend, and also the Rooibos Citrus and Ginger which has a really deep, citrus flavour. They have an outdoor seating area which is absolutely perfect on sunny days, and they have wifi should you try and escape to do a little work somewhere more interesting than a boring office.
