Malahide is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque villages in Dublin.
Sitting on the coast beyond Howth, the village boasts a beautiful selection of boutiques, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
It's the perfect place for a nice day out at the weekend with loads of things to do. You can explore Malahide Castle where you can learn all the history that surrounds it. If you're the active sort then you have plenty of walks to choose from along the coast, like the stretch from Malahide to Portmarnock where you can fill your lungs with some salty sea air.
All that walking will work up an appetite and luckily there are heaps of places to choose from. One of my favourite spots in Malahide is Jaipur, my mouth starts watering just thinking about their seafood curry and peshawari naan.
After all the walking and dining, the best way to finish up the day is a pint in Gibney's before heading home.
Photographer Derek Kennedy went to shoot the coastal village and the photos are just stunning...
