On Friday night, fans of Cher got to enjoy some time in the musical icon's presence as she performed at Dublin 3 Arena. Belting out a range of hits including If I Could Turn Back Time, The Shoop Shoop Song and Believe, the veteran singer certainly earned herself some downtime to be enjoyed around the capital and it seems like she did just that during her stay.
The 73-year-old took to Instagram to share a pic of herself in front of the Oscar Wilde statue at Merrion Square, taken by her pal Paulette Howell. Under the cover of darkness, it would have been easy for passers-by to miss the Oscar winner roaming the streets of Dublin. The photo was accompanied by the caption 'THANKS IRELAND.

While here, Cher had no intention of limiting herself to recreational activites, as she followed up the snap with a message for Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on the subject of fracking.
She posted a letter signed by a number of people and organisations including Hollywood star Mark Ruffalo, Fracking Free Clare and Good Energies Alliance Ireland calling on the Taoiseach to reject proposals to import fracked gas from the United States to a terminal in the Shannon estuary.

Alongside the correspondence, Cher wrote 'I know the Irish people don’t need actors and singers from Hollywood getting into their business but it’s because we care and we have had experience with the kind of people & companies who frack and sell the gas!!'
The post received a generally positive repsonse on Instagram and it surely won't take long for Varadkar to get the message.
