Widely recognised as one of the kick-starters of the Detroit techno Music scene, Derrick May returns to The Twisted Pepper tonight to play a 3 hour set. May's role in the techno world is seen as so pivotal that he now runs the Detroit's annual electronic music festival, which he renamed as Movement. Get down and see the master at work this evening, you won't be disappointed..
These lads have enjoyed a stupendously glorious 2014 which saw them playing to thousands at festivals including Glastonbury, Electric Picnic and Body & Soul, collaborating with the likes of James Vincent McMorrow and welcoming home Mr. Michael D. Higgins himself, as well as selling out gigs across Ireland. Now they’re back at it again to promote their debut EP, ‘BBB’. Their roaring success rests on their wonderful way with the crowd and their ability to get everyone, and they mean everyone, up and dancing, and tonight in Vicar Street will be no different – don’t miss out!
Saturday
The Discotekken Space Jam Party with Space Dimension Controller
Following the sold-out success of Discotekken's The Jungle Book screening and party, this evening is shaping up nicely! With a license secured to screen the film guests will also enjoy a BBQ before the amazingly talented Space Dimension Controller takes over the decks. The Sugar Club will also host local DJs such as Louis Scully, Baz Hickey and Mike Black. It's a great opportunity to relieve one of the best 90s films and get on down to some quality tunes afterwards.
This comedy gig taking place in Hangar tomorrow evening promises to be a lively affair. Colm O'Regan of the Irish Mammies books will be performing on the night, alongside Ryan Cullen from Republic Of Telly, and the show will be hosted by Marcus O'Laoire. Great place to do your pre-drinking, with tears of laughter streaming down your face before you venture out into the night.
