Rough walk into work this morning? Here's why.
The elusive Storm Doris is expected to ravish the Dublin coast until sometime around noon today. Gale force winds are forecast to battle the capital, as three weather warnings have been put in place by Met Éireann.
The first is a national status yellow alert is in place in the whole of Leinster. The second is an orange warning highlighting the gales ahead, and the third is another yellow warning, in place for small crafts at sea.
The Irish meteorological service predicted:
"Southwest winds of mean speeds 50 to 65km/h will develop giving gusts of 90 to 110km/h. Winds will veer northwesterly later in the night. Winds will be strongest in coastal counties. Winds will lessen as the day goes on but it will remain blustery and heavy outbreaks of rain will become more persistent.''
Wind increases again this evening, with heavy rain and a risk of sleet. The heavy rain will also clear to showers, turning much cooler. Expect minimum temperatures of 2°C to 4°C in the early morning.
