Three Ireland customers woke up to a rude awakening this morning as a number of the phone company's customers have been charged phone bills of up to €300, for services of which they did not avail.
According to the Irish Independent, Three customers received texts this morning stating that large amounts of cash had been charged to their account.
Many of whom took to Twitter to voice their anger.

It seems that some prepay (pay as you go) customers have been affected, while no bill pay customers were affected.
Three Ireland took to Twitter to respond to every customer individually about the inconvenience.

Three also got in touch with Lovin Dublin to say:
''Three is aware that some of our prepay customers received a text message regarding their allowance in error this morning. We are working to resolve the issue and any necessary refunds will be processed as soon as possible. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience.''
It appears that the texts were sent in error. An error they have since been investigating.
Furthermore, no customers will be charged for services of which they did not avail.
