This Italian Food & Arts Festival Is Going On In Dublin City Centre This Weekend

Looking for something tasty to do this weekend?

We've got just the thing.

The Maccheroni Food & Arts Festival is taking place in the square of the Italian quarter this Saturday from 1pm - 11pm.

During the day, authentic Italian Mamas will be preparing different Italian street food recipes, made with traditional and ancient methods, using only the freshest of ingredients.

Such as: 

• Handmade knitting needle pasta ''fileja" typical from Calabria Region and served with slow cooked pork ragu, or as vegeterian option with "San marzano" tomato sauce and salted dried ricotta.
• "Il panzerotto" a fried version of a calzone (stuffed with tomato and mozzarella) that is unique to the Puglia region.
• Deep fried Napoletana pizza, which is a traditional street food from outside Naples made with sour dough, which has been left to mature slowly for at least 48 hours. 
• Potato croquettes, rice croquettes, paninis with grilled sausage from Norcia and organic wine from Emilia Romagna, craft Italian beer and plenty of Aperol Spritz.

And it's not just food...

Music kicks off at 3pm, with three superb live acts and two DJ's providing tunes for the whole day.

Line-up includes:

3.30pm - The Chancers (Jazz duo)
4.30pm - Mama Kasbah (DJ)
5.30pm - Mongrel State (South-western rock)
7.15pmn - Santino Cardamome (One of the most exciting Italian songwriters right now)

After the headline act from Santino Cardamone, CALAMBRE will close the night with his energetic mix off Tropical Bass, with tunes from Italy, Spain, Balkans, South America & Africa. During the day you'll also have the pleasure of hearing some live music from four different bands singing their way through the day.
