Working weekends and having your days off mid-week is a struggle.
And adjusting to life where you don't have easy access to brunch is even harder, seeing as most places reserve this beautiful ritual for Saturdays and Sundays.
So I make it my mission to seek out those hidden gems that serve breakfasts/brunches during the week.
Which led me straight to Grove Road last Tuesday – it's a delight.
Where?
Why, on Grove Road, of course. Right on the Rathmines/Portobello Bridge in Dublin 6.
WHAT a spot.
They have specials daily, but I stuck to the main menu and went for what I had heard was the best dish on the menu – the avocado and feta smash with poached eggs and sourdough.
And it did not disappoint one bit.
A must-try
At €9.50, and it came with a lil salad with reduced balsamic dressing and roasted cherry tomatoes that were literally the cherry on top of the meal.
You can also add bacon or sausies for €1.80 extra.
They have a plethora of other options to choose from.
Like these scrambled eggs...
And this mouthwatering French toast
And, of course, an classic full Irish
Sure what would brunch be without some eggs 'bene
They do loads of more lunch-y dishes too...
Most importantly – their coffee is LEGIT
It's no fuss, just a lovely little café with really great food that exceeds expectations, cool staff and hella' good coffee.
If Grove Road just ain't happenin' for you today, then check out some of these:
