Gangs of people dressed in Joycean straw boaters hats and aprons are cycling through the city this morning in celebration of James Joyce’s Ulysses and Dublin in the rare old times.
Participants of this annual Bike Rally have raised over €750,000 in past years for the Irish Youth Foundation – by merely cycling, eating and drinking their way around the city.

The Irish Youth Foundation is helping to sculpt our nations future through their tireless work with disadvantaged youths and children who are not receiving the care and opportunity that should be every child's birthright.
The work they are doing is real and lasting. It is holding up a light to those who have too much shadow in their lives and that light is saying "we care", that light is saying "you have a voice, you will be heard"

Over 200 cyclists took the streets in the Brennan's Bloomsday Messenger Bike Rally & Lunch last year, and today's turnout is looking pretty hefty so far.
If you see these Edwardian ladies and gentlemen on the streets today be sure to give them a shout – they'll be stopping into a few local pubs for nibbles and drinks all morning, before finishing with a luncheon in the Shelbourne Hotel.
