The practice of cooking live lobsters has long been one that's made people uncomfortable – but this group of activists took things a step further, when they entered a restaurant on Wicklow Street and took nine of the creatures from the tank.
The National Animal Rights Association claimed responsibility for the daring prison break at the Ka Shing restaurant – in conjunction with Direct Action For Animals and the Alliance For Animal Rights – and posted this message on its Facebook page.

The group added: "Lobsters do not have an automatic nervous system that puts them into a state of shock when they’re harmed. They feel the pain until their nervous system is destroyed – which can take up to 7 minutes when being boiled alive."
According to the post, a group of the organisations' members were approached at an anti-fur protest the following morning, and informed that charges would be pressed against them for their actions. However, they said:
We liberated them openly, because we are 100% behind our belief that it was the morally correct thing to do. What we did was an act of compassion, and we have no regrets.
