We know that life in Dublin can be overwhelming at times, so we're helping you to keep that stress in check.

This week we're looking at group events organised by the website Meet-Up, specifically ones designed to help you relax, so you can avoid all the myriad problems that arise from the pressures of city life.

Here are four relaxing Dublin meet-ups you need to try:

1. Dublin Social Ramblers

This is where hiking meets socialising. This meet-up was created to provide a relaxed environment for those who want to go hiking at the weekend (doing a distance between 10 and 20km) or evenings after work (5km).

This group aims to create free, fun, social hikes, set at a reasonable pace. They organise other social activities for their hikers as well, such as the occasional dinner, trips to Newgrange, weekends down the country, and whatever other suggestions new members may have.

2. North/West Dublin Dog Walking

Dog lovers, this one's for you. This relatively new group arranges casual weekly walks, to include the odd dog-friendly pub or café afterwards so owners and pooches can relax together. These meet-ups usually take place on Sundays in places like St Anne's Park (Raheny), Malahide Park, and St Catherine's Park (Lucan).

3. Free Yoga

Contort your way to relaxation with this yoga class of the free variety (our favourite kind). It takes place upstairs in a warm and laid back coffee shop (should you fancy post-yoga coffee and toasties) on Upper Clanbrassil Street and all levels are invited to join in.

4. Dublin Free Cycling

One for all you cyclists. This is a non-competitive and relaxed cycling group, for people who want to meet up in Dublin and head off on cycling trips as part of a group, with some trips being fast-paced and some slow, depending on what everybody fancies.

The group puts on regular cycling trips in and around the capital along scenic and interesting routes, usually stopping off at cafés or pubs for lunch or coffee along the way.
