Gardaí in Donnybrook are investigating an armed robbery that took place in Ballsbridge at approximately 1am on Wednesday. 

According to Independent.ie, two robbers, armed with what looked like a knife and a gun, managed to gain entry by hopping over a 7 foot-high security screen at Bar 51 on Haddington Road. 

It is understood that the robbers threatened and tied up staff and customers before making away with €2,500.

Gardaí have obtained CCTV footage of the terrifying incident which lasted several minutes. 

Nobody was injured and an investigation has been launched.
