Getting around town on Paddy's Day can be an absolute nightmare. We know this, we've accepted this, but we still hate it.
Buuuut, when there's a will, there's a way - and thanks to AA Roadwatch, we have all the tips and tricks you need to know for an easy commute around the city.
First up is:
According to the site:
''A number of diversions will be in place between Thursday 16 and Sunday 19 March due to the St. Patrick’s Festival. You can find out if your route is affected at the Dublin Bus website.
A Sunday timetable will operate on all routes on St. Patrick’s Day. City Tour, Coastal Tours, Beyond Barricades Tour and Ghostbus Tour services will not operate.
A full Nitelink service will operate on Thursday 16, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 March. There will be no Nitelink on Sunday 19 March.''
According to AA:
''Luas services on St. Patrick’s Day will run to a normal Friday timetable, with the following exceptions:
On the Green Line, the first tram is at 7am and the last services are at 11pm from Brides Glen and 11:30pm from St. Stephen’s Green.
On the Red Line, trams will operate between Smithfield and Tallaght/Saggart only between 10:30am and 2:30pm, due to the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The first tram is at 7am and the last services are at 10:50pm from Saggart, 11pm from Tallaght and 11:30pm from the city centre.''
AA Roadwatch says:
''A Sunday timetable will be in use during the day, and Tara Street Station will be closed until 4pm.''
So, there you have it.
Plenty of ways to get around, but you've just got to be smart about it.
