Feel like your taste in music isn't so widely appreciated in Dublin these days?
Well all that's about to change, as Spectrum Festival is making its big debut in Dublin this March, and it's got a good mix of everything.
It's branded as 'a new festival experience for fans of innovative music-making', and presents an intriguing line-up of acts at the creative intersection where jazz, contemporary, rock and electronic music collide.
Spectrum will be taking over Dublin City Centre for three nights of live music from March 10 - 12 in Whelans and The Opium Rooms on Wexford St, Dublin.
Styles of music you've been missing out on throughout the years: jazz, progressive, rock, alt-folk to electronica persuasions.
Featured artists on the programme include jazz composer and bassist Ronan Guilfoyle with Tom Rainey and Dave Binney performing Guilfoyle’s ‘Hands’, Cian Nugent, Norway’s Hedvig Mollestad, Belgian instrumental trio Dans Dans, improvised music with Izumi Kimura and Barry Guy, pianist Paul G.Smyth, and saxophonist Evan Parker among others.
Homebeat will also be presenting a late-night lineup of electronica on the Saturday night.
A selection of talks, in both Whelans and The Opium Rooms on Wexford Street will also be taking place, including: ‘Is music genre dead, or does it just smell funny?’
Weekend tickets are €30 on sale until Sunday February 5.
