From expos to concerts, there's plenty of events on this weekend to suit all tastes. Read on for our guide to events in Dublin this weekend....
The Ireland Angling Show is an annual event which takes place in the National Show Centre Swords this Saturday and Sunday. The show brings together all types of angling under one roof with over 70 exhibitors. The show has grown over the past sixteen years and is the country's premier angling event. There will be something for all the family with the casting pool being a popular spot to watch the professionals demonstrate their skills and knowledge of the sport. Popping your head into the Irish Angling Show is a must for anyone interested in angling or fishing.
House godfather, Kerri Chandler plays all night long in the cool surroundings of District 8. This will be a live key and vox set, and a must for any self-respecting house music fans. Expect a serious vibe in the Tivoli warehouse tomorrow night.
Is Beauty really only skin deep? Following the runaway international success of Forgotten and Silent, Fishamble presents Pat Kinevane's third solo play, Underneath, directed by Jim Culleton. This stunning new play on this Friday and Saturday night is a blackly comic, rich and vivid tale of a life lived in secret. The play is a testament to the people who live on the fringes, under the nose of everyday life. It explores the surface, and what lies underneath, and will leave you with a lot of food for thought.
Hailing from the North of England, music has always been a major part of Bontan's life, producing music and fine tuning his sound over many years, Bontan eventually burst on to the scene with his debut EP "Hit It From The Back". With countless Radio 1 plays, and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Bontan has stapled himself as a name to look out for on the underground circuit so this Friday night's gig in the Button Factory is not to be missed.
Charles plays the guitar, piano, and cello. He is also a classically trained singer and performed in his school's choir. He began writing songs when he was 17 and hasn't looked back since. Having played alongside the likes of Noah & the Whale, Mumford and Sons and Laura Marling he's no stranger to the big stage. His chilled indie style will make for an evening of lovely music this Saturday even if his hair is a bit ridiculous.
Bodytonic and Loose Ends bring Mahogani Music's Dan Shake to the Twisted Pepper tomorrow night. Mixing it up on the night, there will be a DJ set from UK band The Horrors and Ian Blake from Loose Ends, as well as Bodytonic's finest.
