A Multilingual Smartphone Guide Has Just Been Created For Merrion Square’s Oscar Wilde

Dublin City Council has just created a multilingual smartphone guide for the immensely popular sculpture of Oscar Wilde in Merrion Square Park, Dublin 2.

Comprised of an audio, text and video explanation, the aim of the guide is to educate visitors about the art of sculptor Danny Osborne. The audio and text is available in Irish, English, French, Chinese and Spanish and the video is available in English.

Visitors to the sculpture may access this information using a QR (Quick Response) code printed on a recently erected sign that is adjacent to the artwork, or by visiting this website.

Our Parks and Landscapes Services and Arts Office have introduced this pilot project with the hope of expanding art and parks interpretation guides in traditional and digital forms over the coming years. We want locals and visitors to obtain a greater understanding and relationship with our city resources.
