Right, we're going to make a controversial statement here - Temple Bar is actually one of the most interesting areas in Dublin.
Before you jump down our throat screaming about €7 pints and drunk tourists, give us a chance to explain.
The thing is that the whole Temple Bar region gets painted with the same brush, despite the fact that it's a hotbed of cosy cafés, pop-up shops and tasty food outlets.

If you call yourself a seafood fan, you should be ashamed of yourself if you haven't checked out Klaw yet. We've waxed lyrical about their towers of fishy fantasticness but you'll have to try it for yourself to really understand.
Culture vultures will have all their needs satisfied at this great venue, which is home to everything from exhibitions and theatre to lively debates.
Heading out after work but no time for dinner? A pasty is your only man. Comfort food at its finest.
Grafton Street and Henry Street might be the best spots for the High Street brands but Temple Bar is home to the absolute gem that is Folkster. You'll always find something a bit special here.
Going for tapas is still our favourite way to catch up with a gang of mates and this Temple Bar spot is in easy reach of both sides of the river - so the only arguments will be over the delish menu!
This elusive bar brings some mystery and intrigue to our fave tourist trap, serving incredibly crafted cocktails behind that blink-and-you'l-miss-it black door. They also serve a savage brunch for the morning after.
The city has no shortage of great coffee but if tea is more your thing, then it's definitely worth checking out this spot just across from Meeting House Square. It seats 30 and is open from 9am every morning.

Think Temple Bar is all about burgers and booze? Think again. The area also boasts some fine dining restaurants, like this Crow Street spot. Buzzing atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff in the business.
This is such a great people-watching spot. Grab a seat in the window and order one of their insanely good coconut hot chocolates.
This is a real hub of contemporary art in Dublin and has a real community feel, with events taking place in the building on a regular basis.
This used to be located over the North Quays but moved into Temple Bar last year. A haven of vintage and pre-loved clothes, X Factor girl band Little Mix even popped in for a haul on their last visit.
This mixed-use development is home to a carefully curated clothes store, as well as nice little coffee dock and a creative studio space.
While there are plenty of cineplexes around the place, the IFI and The Lighthouse are continually changing up their schedules with new and interesting movies and documentaries. The perfect place to while away a midweek evening.
