Brunch is getting better by the week in Dublin and if there's one day where it's a little extra special, it has to be Sunday.
Skip breakfast so you are on the edge maximum hunger, grab the Sunday papers and go grab one of these 12 gorgeous Sunday brunch dishes...
1. Homemade Beans, Sourdough And Poached Eggs – Slice Café
We always head up here if we're in the mood for a healthy brunch. This dish is served with one of their fresh cold pressed juices which will set you up for the day.
2. French Toast – Brasserie 66
Lovely, light and fluffy dish for the sweet-toothed among you, the big room is the perfect place to have the papers spread out over the table and to enjoy a leisurely pace of a Sunday.
3. Sunday Roast – Brookwood Dublin
This starts at 1 o'clock, so a better option for the late riser who wants to get a big hearty meal into them.
They serve up a beautiful roast dinner with all the trimmings.
The menu changes up every few weeks. We love the green eggs and ham, or the mushrooms on toast – you can't go wrong. And all washed down with a hearty 3fe cuppa coffee.
5. Breakfast Tacos, Chorizo, Egg And Salsa Verde – 777
Sundays at 777 are the best way to revitalise your weekend, and these eggs have a great kick to them, with the only issue being you're going to want some booze to wash it down.
Boozy brunches are the best brunches though.
6. Jumbo Pork And Leek Sausages With Brioche And Eggs – Wuff
Great little café down on the Luas tracks just passed Smithfield, and their sausages are the biggest you'll ever see.
Their eggs Benedict with crispy bacon are also to die for.
7. The Veggie Full Irish – The House Howth
While us meat eaters know all the joys of a full Irish, we do feel for the poor old veggies among us.
Well they're in luck – because the House in Howth have a full Irish with no meat in it at all and it's incredibly tempting.
8. Chicken And Mushroom Pie – The Old Spot
They do a pie of the day here all the time, and with the weather as cold as it is there's nothing better than a big tasty load of meat topped with buttery pastry.
Get in early – it's always packed in here on a Sunday.
Always been meaning to try San Lorenzo's? Get it over and done with today.
10. Minute Steak And Chips – L'Gueuleton
We must say this is one of the most perfect dishes in town.
Done in a classic French style with crispy fries and Bernaise sauce – this is a winner.
11. Lemon Potato Cakes With Smoked Salmon – Pepper Pot Café
A great spot and their little potato cakes with lemon and smoked salmon is light and delicious.
Perfect for beating the hangover.
12. Sunday Brunch – Seasons @ The InterContinental
This is a serious Sunday brunch, if ever there was one.
With live music, a DIY Bloody Mary bar, prosecco with real gold flakes (notions), a breakfast starter buffet, unreal brunch main courses, your very own dessert stand and tea and coffee for days!
It's €39 a head, but for the sheer amount of food and drink you get that is actually a real bargain.
Don’t @ us. We’re well aware some may think it is still too early for the mention of the C word, but when it comes to booking the group or couples dinners that populate Christmas week, you need to be organised well in advance. If you’ve got your eye on certain restaurants, waiting any longer […]
We’re in the final countdown. Yes, we have speculated whether this 20 year old trend is slowly dying, perhaps evident by the fact there aren’t more cafés whipping up pumpkin spice and everything nice on this list, but basic as it may be, it’s a celebration of autumn in my eyes, and I can’t help but […]

Dublin is glutted with literary magazines. They’re ten a penny; if today’s penny is actually €15 each. In 2017 Justine Carbery wrote in The Irish Independent “literary journals proved to be constant stars in a fluctuating market. Ireland, with its rich history of independent literary magazines, finds itself in rude health today with many new […]

From refreshing newbs to reliable classics Despite the increasingly adverse trading conditions for service in Dublin, we’ve never had such strong restaurant offerings. Not even at the peak of the Celtic Tiger did we have such a plethora of passionate food creatives doing bits and making waves. So to help you navigate the best of […]
(and Always) It’s never been more vital to support Queer-Owned Spaces in Dublin. Put your money where your morals are as often as you can. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I know that the people who run our bars, restaurants, and cafés shape the atmosphere more than the decor or the playlist ever […]
